Monstera deliciosa is the classic “Swiss cheese plant”. Sometimes referred to as a split-leaf philodendron. The plant is native to southern Mexico and as far south as Panama.
The Monstera deliciosa has been a sought after houseplant for decades. With proper care it can reach a very large size with spectacular glossy, fenestrated leaves 18 inches or more in diameter.
Thrives in bright indirect to medium light. It will do better with more light and more humidity. Water every 7 – 10 days allowing soil to dry out between waterings.
Younger/smaller plants do not show the dramatic fenestrations present on larger plants and more light will help with producing the desirable split leaves
